Sand Casting — flexible for large and complex parts
Sand casting uses compacted sand molds to produce one-off parts, prototypes and medium-volume runs. It is economical for large and heavy parts and tolerates more variation in surface finish and tolerance than precision processes.
Advantages
Low tooling cost; good for large sizes; flexible with design changes.
Limitations
Higher surface finish roughness; post-machining often required for critical surfaces.
Materials & weights range
Gray & ductile iron, carbon steel; suitable up to and beyond 150 kg per part (we handle single parts up to 150 kg).
Typical lead times:
Short for prototypes; moderate for small series depending on pattern/mold prep.
Design Tips
Provide draft angles where possible; indicate core requirements and internal passages early.
